So in college a friend gave me her Ikea Poang chair. The cover on it was hideous (it had a HUGE ink stain and was just dirty) I had it covered with a blanket but it was high time I made a cover for it. I used this super cute Michael Miller fabric I found at the local quilt shop.
Love Polka Dots
This is the kitty's favorite chair, but ever since I made the cover I haven't seen her on it. Fine with me because she sheds everywhere. haha!
I love projects that I can make with scraps of fabric. It makes my stash smaller so I can buy more fabric (haha)! I think this would make a cute Mothers Day gift stuffed full of summer bulbs and maybe a homemade gardening apron?
I love how this turned out! I used a string of 20 battery operated lights (that I already had, score!). I used my silhouette to design and cut out the lanterns. I have it hung in our bedroom above the window, but I couldn't get a good picture of it up there so I took the picture on the floor. It would be fun with battery operated Tea lights in the lanterns too.
So while I was at the dollar store I also found grapevine wreaths, pretty exciting. I used turquoise, white and grey felt to make the flowers and then hot glued a pearl bead in the center of each flower. Not too bad for $1!
On my recent trip to the dollar store I found solar powered yard stakes! So I bought one and transformed it into a sun jar. I filled the bottom of the jar with beach glass (also sold at the dollar store). I love how the light reflects on the counter.
These would be perfect at a wedding reception, they look pretty even in the light. Next time I think I will add shells inside.
I wrapped a natural fabric around cardboard (old cereal box) and stenciled my design on with fabric paint. I designed my stencil in the Silhouette Studio software and cut it out on freezer paper. Then I added some embellishments.
I hung this on the door using a couple magnets so the hubby can't forget Valentines Day! haha! I glued a heart onto a toothpick to put in the envelope for the corresponding day. Or you could put little love notes into the envelopes.
I used my Silhouette to cut out mini envelopes, numbers and words to complete this "Count Down to Kisses" sign.
I also hung a sweet heart swag over the window. Valentines decorations almost done!
